Symmys Judges Announced
The first annual Symmys Awards for best palindromes of 2012 has a stunning lineup of wordplay celebrities, just announced. The 9 judges are:
Will Shortz, NPR’s Puzzle Master and New York Times’ Crossword Editor
Weird Al Yankovic – musical comedy legend, and creator/singer of the palindromic classic "Bob"
Demitri Martin – Comedian, author and palindromist. Demetri's new book POINT YOUR FACE AT THIS comes out on March 19th.
Jackie Kashian - very funny comedian (Conan, Comedy Central, Nick at Nite) and host of popular podcast 'The Dork Forest'
John Flansburgh, half of the Grammy-winning band "They Might Be Giants," who are best known -- in these parts anyway -- for their classic song "I Palindrome I"
Ben Zimmer – executive producer of VisualThesaurus.com and Vocabulary.com, language columnist for The Boston Globe, and former "On Language" columnist for The New York Times Magazine.
Jack Rosenthal, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist (New York Times),
Tim Imit, editor of MockOK.com, the biggest website for new palindromes,
and Jeff Grant, New Zealand palindrome legend (Word Ways Magazine).
